About Maureen Kerr

Maureen Kerr

Maureen Kerr is part of the innovation generation using the internet, social media and technology to transform ideas into reality.

That’s the difference Maureen brings to the table: she’s been there, done that.

After year five, her first business that she founded in 1999, hit sales of close to a million dollars. She was chosen as BDC’s Young Entrepreneur of the Year for PEI and featured on the cover of Progress magazine for the third fastest growing company in Atlantic Canada.

Marketing and creating a buzz come naturally to the Marketing Maven and as a blogger her writing has appeared on PEICanada.com and Progress.ca.  As an engaging speaker, Maureen has presented to and/or trained over 1000 people at conferences, workshops and for private groups.

In 2010 Maureen developed the “Heads Up, Hands On” social media training program which was delivered in partnership with the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC) and ProfitLearn.  It was incredibly successful with 40+ (as of Summer of 2012) businesses going through the program and giving rave reviews.

A regular volunteer in her sons’ schools, Maureen became an advocate for educational technology for students in the province of PEI after traveling to Indonesia in 2010 and visiting the international school where her brother taught.  After seeing mobile computer labs, Smart boards, grade 3 students using autocad, Maureen developed an afterschool technology program for elementary schools.  With resounding success and feedback from both parents and students, Maureen’s newest initiative is the Techmobeel,  a mobile learning lab for Island schools.

So, between speaking gigs, training organizations and teaching kids, Maureen owns and manages a couple of properties, is a mom to two busy boys, practices yoga and likes to dance.
